Current Call for Singers
Sacred music by Mendelssohn, Brahms and Bruckner
The Péti Consort was established to give experienced singers the opportunity to perform at the highest level, and to widen the repertoire of both singers and the average concert-goer.
The Péti Consort has gone from strength to strength since its first concert in November 2016. Over the course of four concerts they have explored music from Renaissance Italy and England, all the way to contemporary music creations by Pärt, Lauridsen and even Bernstein.
The Consort is suitable for highly experienced amateur singers, who are strong readers and can hold a part, music students and professional singers at the beginning of their careers.
Their conductor, Josh Skorja, is particularly experienced in shaping the choir’s sound into a well balanced chamber choir, and known for encouraging musicianship and collaboration between voices and individuals.
Saturday, 14th July 2018 at 7.30pm. St Matthew’s Church in Chapel Allerton, LS7 3QF, Leeds.
For our Summer concert, we will be exploring sacred music works by Mendelssohn, Bruckner and Brahms, combining some well-known standard repertoire with less familiar pieces.
